Temple Beth Shalom is a welcoming and vibrant Conservative synagogue dedicated to fostering Jewish learning, community, and spiritual growth. We are seeking an organized, proactive, and personable Operations Manager to support our Religious School and work closely with the Director of Education.

Job Summary:

The Religious School Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth day-to-day functioning of our religious school. This individual ensures effective communication among staff, families, and students, maintains accurate records, assists in planning school events, and provides essential clerical and logistical support. This role is key in supporting the educational and spiritual mission of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for school-related inquiries (phone, email, and in-person).
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, registration, and emergency contact information.
  • Manage the school calendar and coordinate classroom and event scheduling.
  • Support communication with parents, staff, and clergy via newsletters, emails, and print materials.
  • Prepare and distribute class and program materials, including curricula, handouts, and supplies.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Director of Education and teaching staff.
  • Coordinate logistics for holiday programs, special events, and family education days.
  • Track and order school supplies and educational materials.
  • Ensure classrooms are set up and ready with required materials; coordinate volunteers as needed.
  • Monitor tuition payments and liaise with the finance office.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all student and family information.

 Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in an administrative, clerical, or educational support role preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with Google Workspace and database systems is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work independently in a dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with Jewish traditions and holidays is a plus.
  • Warm, welcoming demeanor and commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive school culture.

Additional Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong customer service orientation; able to interact professionally and clearly with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with ShulCloud is a plus.
  • Knowledge of or connection to the Jewish community is a plus.

Work Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Friday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Sunday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Availability required for some Jewish holidays and evening events.
Salary52,000.00 - 52,000.00 Annual
