Description

Our client, an Independent NYC Prep School, seeks an Admissions Associate.

S/he supports Leadership by providing administrative support, written and oral communications with prospective students, and managing applicant records. This is a full-time, 12-month position that includes occasional night and weekend events.

Strong candidates will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to handle and process high-volume, time-sensitive information, and possess superior organizational skills with attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of work experience, preferably in an admissions role and/or previous experience working in a school environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); as well as strong writing and copy-editing skills.
  • Prior experience with database management/student information systems such as RenWeb, Blackbaud, FACTS, Veracross etc., a plus. Tech. savvy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Initiative, creativity, and drive to excel in a results-driven office
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • High degree of professionalism and a strong work ethic
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in all administrative aspects of the admissions and recruitment process including but not limited to databases, mailings, communications, scheduling etc.
  • Manage and process all enrollment paperwork from application to contract
  • Respond promptly to inquiries from prospective students and families 
  • Focus on attention to detail, applicant follow-up, and provide exemplary client service
  • Daily administration of admissions and enrollment portal: update and keep database current throughout the admission process
  • Plan, organize and execute enrollment events such as Open Houses, Information Sessions and Parlor Meetings.
  • Create recruitment and enrollment reports for leadership; provide admissions statistics for analysis.
  • Prepare admissions materials such as brochures; assemble admissions marketing pieces and keep them current.
  • Draft admissions and enrollment letters; issue enrollment and re-enrollment contracts
  • Assist with processing financial aid paperwork
  • Schedule and administer assessments
  • Assist in scheduling tours and shadow days
  • Give tours to prospective parents
  • Administration of online presence related to admissions
  • Developing strategies to retain enrolled students and minimize attrition
  • Communications with feeder schools: set up admissions/recruitment meetings with placement officers.
  • Support new parents after enrollment - handbook, pick-up and drop-off procedures, schedules, RenWeb, FACTS parent account set-up, etc.
  • Uphold and maintain the confidentiality of new and current family information
  • Maintaining applicant records including database management
  • Attend and assist at school related events
