Director of Community Engagement and Development
Are you passionate about building relationships, strengthening communities, and supporting Jewish education? The N.E. Miles Jewish Day School is looking for a dynamic, driven, and heart-centered Director of Community Engagement and Development to help us tell our story, grow our impact, and foster deep connections—with our families, alumni, donors, and the greater Birmingham Jewish community.
Who We Are:
The N.E. Miles Jewish Day School is proud to be the only Jewish day school in the state of Alabama and a vibrant part of the Birmingham Jewish community. As a community day school, we embrace and celebrate diversity while nurturing a deep love of Torah and a strong sense of pride in the Jewish people.
We were recently named a State School of Character, a recognition of our school-wide commitment to Middot (character values-based) education. We believe deeply in collaboration—among staff, with families, and throughout the wider community—as the key to creating meaningful and lasting impact.
With an amazing staff, curious and joyful students, and a warm, supportive culture, we’re more than a school—we’re a community where students and families grow together.

- Partner with our Board’s Ways and Means VP to identify and pursue giving opportunities
- Cultivate relationships with donors and foundations
- Research and apply for grants aligned with our mission
