We’re hiring enthusiastic teachers to be a part of our teaching team starting this fall. At Beit Sefer, learners gain confidence to engage with Jewish texts, traditions, and prayers that support them in their lives right now. Teaching religious school is a great opportunity to impact young people's lives and be part of our faculty community.

We want you to be a part of our teaching team! We’re hiring dynamic people to join our vision-driven team of educators. A couple of positions are open for the coming school year in a range of ages from our adult-tot class for preschoolers through 10th grade.

What You’ll Do:

  • Work with a specific age group of learners in a part-time religious school setting. Sessions for Kindergarten-2nd grade are Sunday mornings. 3rd-6th grade meets Sunday mornings and Thursdays afterschool. 8th-10th grade meets Sundays noon – 2:00 pm.
  • Plan meaningful, engaging, and fun activities based on the curriculum with the Director of Lifelong Learning
  • Communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with learners, parents,and madrichol (teen leaders)
  • Grow your teaching practice through teacher meetings and professional development opportunities

Who We're Looking For People Who:

  • Model enthusiasm and curiosity about Jewish life
  • Love spending time with children and have experience leading learning experiences (at religious school, camp, as a teen, or other settings)
  • Embrace the diversity of our community, including race, income, sexual orientation, gender expression, disability, and interfaith/multifaith status
  • Are ready to build and maintain a positive and collaborative classroom culture
  • Are dependable and can communicate effectively with learners, families, and staff

  • Our teaching team is a reflective, supportive community, with opportunities to grow your practice as an educator. Our Director of Lifelong Learning is known for supporting her team and creating an enthusiastic, close-knit group of teachers.
  • Pay is commensurate with experience and includes professional development, support, and prep time as a holistic package
  • The school year will be September 2025 to May 2026 with training in late August
