Position Overview
The Program Director is responsible for overseeing all programmatic operations of the Jewish Interest Free Loan Association (JIFLA), ensuring effective, mission-driven delivery of the loan process and related financial education programs. This includes managing client services, supervising the Loan Manager, and expanding JIFLA’s impact through financial literacy and coaching initiatives.
The Program Director plays a pivotal role in maintaining JIFLA’s reputation for integrity, confidentiality, and community trust, while also advancing innovation and partnerships to strengthen financial stability in the Jewish community.
Hybrid role: Work remotely, with minimum one day each week in our Dunwoody, GA office.
Key Responsibilities
Loan Program Oversight
• Oversee the entire loan lifecycle, from application intake through approval, disbursement, servicing, and repayment.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and underwriting standards are applied consistently and fairly.
• Supervise and support the Loan Manager, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
• Manage relationships with volunteer loan committees, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
• Monitor loan portfolio performance and prepare regular reports on key data points for the Executive Director and Board.
Financial Literacy & Coaching Programs
• Design, implement, and evaluate financial education programs, workshops, and one-on-one financial coaching.
• Develop partnerships with community organizations, synagogues, and agencies to expand reach and resources.
• Track outcomes to demonstrate program impact on participants’ financial stability and independence.
Program Management & Evaluation
• Manage Peaceful Family Program, including collaboration with JF&CS staff and coordination with therapy centers, participant applications, management of participation and payments, and other aspects of program administration and implementation.
• Manage Bridge to Stability Program, including coordination with other staff, Program Committee members, program participants, and all aspects of program administration and implementation.
• Develop annual program goals and budgets in alignment with strategic priorities.
• Maintain accurate program data, client records, and reporting systems.
• Collect and analyze outcome metrics; use findings to strengthen programs.
• Ensure compliance with confidentiality, ethical standards, and nonprofit best practices.
Leadership & Collaboration
• Supervise the Loan Manager, fostering professional growth and accountability.
• Collaborate with the Development Director to provide impact stories and program data for fundraising.
• Partner with the Marketing & Outreach Director to promote programs and client success stories.
• Represent JIFLA at community meetings, events, and coalitions as a program ambassador.
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in nonprofit management, finance, social work, or related field preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in program management, preferably in financial services, economic empowerment, or nonprofit leadership.
• Experience supervising staff and managing budgets.
• Knowledge of loan processing, consumer finance, or financial literacy education strongly preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and facilitation skills.
• Cultural competency and knowledge of the Jewish community a plus.
• Proficiency with database/CRM systems and program evaluation methods.
