TITLE: Program Specialist

POSITION SUMMARY: The Jewish Federation & Foundation for Northeast Florida is a nonprofit organization serving Jewish donors, agencies and organizations. The Program Specialist of the Jewish Federation & Foundation of Northeast Florida will work closely with the Director of Planned Giving & Endowments and support the work of the Foundation.
Utilizing strong organizational, customer service and administration skills, the Program Specialist will assist with fundholder stewardship, grantmaking, reporting and record keeping for the Foundation department. They should be a result-driven staff member who can multi-task and perform to high standards. Outstanding interpersonal skills and a commitment to Israel and Jewish values is essential.
The Program Specialist for the Foundation department reports directly to the Director of Planned Giving & Endowments.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Listed below are major duties and responsibilities of this position. It is not designed or intended to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of the activities, duties, or responsibilities of the employee.
- Maintain donor management system with accurate fundholder/donor information, regularly setting up new funds, and updating records.
- Maintain Foundation’s fund files (both electronic and physical copy) in an organized and efficient manner; includes physical filing and document scanning responsibilities.
- Provide administrative support to assigned team members, including scheduling, meeting coordination, meeting material preparation, data entry, travel arrangements, expense reporting and other general administrative tasks.
- In consultation with Director, Planned Giving & Endowments, develop and maintain protocols and Foundation department user manuals.
- Coordinate with the finance department for the daily paperwork of new investments and grant disbursements.
- Manage the Foundation’s scholarship program including record keeping, grant administration, and grant distribution with students and institutions.
- Manage the Foundation’s designated funds including record keeping, grant administration, and ensuring grant distribution follows donor intent.
- Steward both existing and new relationships with the investors: community partner agencies, synagogues, fund holders and annual donors.
- Assist in the creation and completion of gift agreements for DAF’s, Endowments and other fund types.
- Coordinate events or programs, as necessary, for the Foundation department.
- Assist in developing department specific collateral materials.
- Assist in preparing materials for Board and Advisory or Investment Oversight Committee meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding and strong commitment to the Jewish Federation & Foundation’s goals and mission.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in donor relations and database management; or college degree with three (3) years of relevant experience. within a non-profit development, with a proven track record of success in supporting donors, fundholders, database management, and reporting.
- BA degree in appropriate field is required and a legal background is helpful but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and writing abilities are essential.
- Willingness to learn, ability to develop new skills and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of and a deep commitment to Jewish values are highly desired but not required.
- Must possess a driver’s license, reliable vehicle and the ability to work some evenings and weekends.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
