The Orthodox Union (OU) is the largest Orthodox Jewish organization in the United States. Founded in 1898, the OU supports a network of synagogues, youth programs, Jewish and Religious Zionist advocacy programs, programs for the disabled, localized religious study programs, and international units. The OU maintains a kosher certification service, whose circled U symbol, is found on the labels of many kosher commercial and consumer food products.

 

Position Summary:

The Executive Assistant (EA) is responsible for effectively managing all administrative and programmatic support aspects of the NCSY Leadership Team, including calendar management, travel coordination, and other logistical tasks as needed. Regularly required to assist in the delivery and resolution of complex and/or sensitive needs or problems independently. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages correspondence, mailings, appointments, calls/inquiries, travel arrangements, and regular/recurring projects for executives.
  • Monitors spending and maintains receipt records of expenses. Prepares monthly reimbursements to submit to Finance as well as credit card reconciliation.
  • Develops preparation of meeting agendas and materials. Gathers important data from all departments as relevant and needed.
  • Handles confidential information that would have a negative impact on the Organization’s operations, performance, or value if shared beyond its intended audience
  • Proactive eye to relationship maintenance, including scheduling of needed meetings and calls with staff, board members, external community leaders, and organizational peers

  • Ability to manage and multitask efficiently and effectively.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Provides support and works with other members of the office in providing a proactive and responsive service team, responding to needs across the organization
  • Demonstration of effective knowledge of the organization’s services, mission, and activities.
  • Assumes responsibility to ensure issues/concerns will be addressed and monitors them through conclusion.
  • Effectively manages own time and resources and manages up;
  • Seeks to apply technology and innovation to improve efficiency and solve problems;
  • Communicates information and ideas clearly and concisely
  • Identifies and cultivates relationships externally as well as with key constituents across campuses, functions, and levels.
  • Must excel in internet research and in all MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Should be able to apply technology and innovation to improve efficiency and solve problems.
     

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is between $50,000 and $60,000, commensurate with experience.
