Your Department

The Alexander Young Leadership cultivate a strong sense of Jewish identity and empowerment among high school students, college students, and young professionals through targeted initiatives and programs. We are shaping the future of global Jewish advocacy by equipping students and young professionals with the tools to counter anti-Israel and antisemitic activities and rhetoric.

Your Impact

The Director of ACCESS Global is responsible for the vision, implementation, and strategic direction of AJC's international program for young professionals. This program engages emerging leaders through transformative leadership development, hands-on advocacy, and philanthropy. The Director will work closely with other AJC departments to oversee the infrastructure of ACCESS Global's lay leadership, programmatic and advocacy initiatives, and the expansion of ACCESS' global footprint. Additionally, the Director will manage the ACCESS Global team, including a small group of regional and global colleagues.

Your Role

  • Lead the development and execution of the department's strategy, goals, objectives, and action plans
  • Develop, oversee, and facilitate advocacy and outreach programs, projects, initiatives, events, meetings, trainings, and/or missions
  • May collaborate with and manage the work of Boards, committees, task forces, or working groups
  • Manage and mentor team staff
  • Leverage resources to help build awareness of and support for the AJC and department initiatives
  • Oversee department fundraising
  • Maintain and manage programmatic spending
  • Analyze and report on department activities, metrics, and impact
  • Serve as consultant, strategic advisor, and subject-matter expert to internal and external stakeholders
  • Supervise and conduct research, monitor, and report on developments, issues, and trends impacting the department and AJC priorities
  • Develop plans for responding to key issues impacting the department and AJC
  • Build coalitions and partnerships
  • Represent AJC and the department in the community, at functions, in the media, and in other public forums
  • Identify, recruit, and develop leadership talent
  • Draft, edit, and disseminate communications resources and materials
  • Direct the department's administrative function

Specific to This Role

  • Oversee a global program: Identify exceptional Jewish young professionals (ages 22-40), engage them in ACCESS, and transform them into leaders and financial supporters of AJC's mission.
  • Expert representation: Serve as AJC's expert voice on issues pertaining to Jewish young professionals, both internally and with external
  • Team management: Manage the ACCESS Global team, including relevant regional and international affiliate
  • Fundraising strategy: Partner with AJC's National Development Department to create and execute ACCESS' fundraising
  • Budget oversight: Design, administer, and oversee the budget for ACCESS
  • Leadership integration: Collaborate with various AJC departments to incorporate ACCESS leaders into the larger AJC leadership
  • Regional coordination: Work closely with AJC regional offices, in coordination with the Department of Regional Offices, to ensure engagement of young professionals in their regions.
  • Event supervision: Oversee the strategy and coordination of national missions and advocacy events for ACCESS

Education, Training, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred)
  • Requires minimum of 10 years of experience, advanced job skills and knowledge, and advanced leadership skills

  • Technical proficiency: skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook), Google Suite applications, and Zoom

Compensation

The salary for this position is $110,000 to $145,000, depending on relevant experience and location.
