Main Line Reform Temple is seeking an energetic and organized Religious School Program Coordinator, skilled in communicating to, and invested in building relationships with, students, teachers, and parents.  Main Line Reform Temple is a thriving, progressive synagogue in Lower Merion, PA with over 420 students and twenty-five staff members in our Religious School.

The Religious School Program Coordinator is a full-time, salaried position who is the “face” of our community for students, teachers, and parents.  The Religious School Coordinator works collaboratively with the Director of Education, professional staff, and faculty to provide programmatic and administrative support for our dynamic K-7th grade Religious School

Hours:  Sunday (7:45am-12:30pm), Tues-Fri (6-8 hrs/day), Friday evening (5:00pm-8:30pm/monthly)

The following are core functions of the position. They may change from time to time and include, but are not limited to:

MANAGING THE RELIGIOUS SCHOOL OFFICE AND CLASS SPACES

  • Welcome and assist students, teachers, and parents in the school office
  • Answer and return phone calls and emails from teachers, parents, and MLRT staff
  • Manage Religious School and classroom supplies
  • Coordinate with teachers to prepare curriculum and learning materials
  • Collaborate with facility staff to ensure weekly classroom set-ups are accurate
  • Maintain electronic and print filing systems for personnel records and curricula
  • Implement office policies and emergency procedures

PROGRAM SUPPORT

  • Provide support to Religious School and Temple programming including speakers, family education events, family Shabbat services, holiday celebrations, and youth and family retreats
  • Assist teachers and substitutes in developing lesson plans
  • Book transportation and make reservations for special programs and trips
  • Act as the point of contact for internal and external clients
  • Provide teachers with digital and print curricular and program materials
  • Support our teen madrichim (classroom assistants) program
  • Meet regularly with Director of Education and senior leadership to coordinate all Religious School programs

ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with the Membership Engagement Director to manage and maintain Religious School enrollment
  • Prepare and send email communications from the Religious School and Director of Education
  • Communicate class assignments and other important information to families and teachers
  • Enter and monitor student, madrichim, and teacher attendance on data management system
  • Ensure classes, programs, and events are listed accurately on internal and external calendars
  • Work with the Marketing Director to maintain the Religious School website and social media
  • Create RSVP forms and monitor responses for programs, trips, and Shabbat dinners
  • Submit and reconcile expense reports and payroll to Controller
