Our client, The Algemeiner, www.algemeiner.com a global news destination published online is seeking a highly experienced and mission-driven Chief Executive Officer to guide the organization to its next level of growth. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO will be tasked with directing and expanding the organization's operations, driving fundraising efforts and implementing its strategic vision. Working closely with the Board, the CEO will serve as the public face of the organization, advocating for and seeking opportunities to build its influence and impact. This is a hybrid job with 4 days in-office job, one day remote.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership - the CEO will build trusting and collaborative relationships with staff, Board members, key stakeholders and the wider community.
  • Fundraising - the CEO will be responsible for raising the funds needed to support the organization’s operations and growth. The CEO will engage and steward donors, cultivate grant opportunities, and solicit major gifts. The CEO will establish strategies and practices to enhance donor development, including financial goals, a calendar of events, and management of development staff. 
  • Vision - the CEO will guide the organization to address emerging challenges and promote a culture of innovation to build on its trajectory of growth, anticipating trends and identifying opportunities on the national and international stage.
  • Management - the CEO will be responsible for day-to-day management and will establish short-and long-term goals which are strategic, programmatic, and align with the organization’s mission.
  • Planning - to ensure the organization’s continued success, the CEO will, together with the Board, oversee all financial matters including long-term budgeting, reporting, audits, and ongoing financial performance and strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for the mission of the organization.
  • 10+ years leadership experience in a similar field.
  • Proven fundraising ability. 
  • Advanced degree is preferred.
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit.
  • Proven ability to meaningfully engage key stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Excellent fiscal and organizational management skills.
  • Excellent networking and interpersonal skills.
  • Social Media organization awareness
  • High attention to detail.
