Position Title: Communications Associate
Location:
WIZO Florida Office – Bay Harbor Islands, FL
Reports To: Executive Director

Overview:
WIZO Florida is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Communications Associate with 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit, communications, or donor-focused roles. This full-time, in-person position is vital in supporting WIZO Florida’s events, administrative operations, and donor communications. The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator, highly organized, and passionate about supporting women and children in Israel through impactful programming and engagement.

Key Responsibilities

1. Events & Program Support

  • Support planning and execution of fundraising events, including vendor coordination, registration, and on-site logistics.
  • Collaborate and manage local WIZO chapters to promote and implement regional programming.
  • Assist with RSVP lists, event signage, run-of-show, and event communications.
  • Provide support for WIZO’s Bat Mitzvah Program, including contracts, payments, letters, and communications.
  • Attend and support events outside regular office hours at least 6 times a year.
  • Manage the WIZO Florida store.

2. Administrative & Office Operations

  • Greet donors and visitors; liaise with board members and event partners.
  • Take minutes at board and committee meetings.
  • Help prepare the boardroom and logistics for meetings and presentations.
  • Track event payments and donations; assist in reconciling with accounting and development teams.
  • Follow up with donors on payment transactions when needed.
  • Assist with administrative needs related to audits and donor transactions.
  • Assist with general office needs including ordering supplies, filing, and office maintenance.
  1. Communications & Donor Engagement
  • Draft and distribute volunteer and vendor thank-you letters, tax receipts, and email communications.
  • Assist with external communications, including tribute cards, announcements, donor emails.
  • Maintain donor records and assist with communications and outreach.
  • Coordinate board communications and maintain meeting calendars.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, events, or nonprofit administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Zoom, Google Workspace).
  • Experience with Raiser’s edge (preferred) or other donor databases.
