Position Summary:

Congregation Beth Israel (CBI), a vibrant and inclusive Reform synagogue in the heart of Austin, TX, is seeking an Assistant to the Executive Director to join our administrative team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Executive Director (ED) Administrative Support

  • Meeting Scheduling and light calendar support.
  • Timely responses to requests from members and others.
  • Preparation and coordination for meetings where ED is lead or attending.
  • Special projects leadership and/or support.
  • Other duties as needed by the Executive Director.
  • Special administrative preparation duties for High Holy Days.

Office Equipment Oversight

  • Maintain adequate postage, order supplies, trouble-shoot problems as needed. On quarterly basis, charge postage to CBI groups as appropriate.
  • Printers and copiers – trouble-shoot problems as needed in collaboration with Technology Coordinator, order supplies.

 

Employee Recognition

  • Set calendar for annual year-end and holiday staff celebrations/retreat and help coordinate.

 

Contribute to Administrative Staff team

  • Provide back-up for other office staff as needed.
  • Attend and actively participate in staff meetings as appropriate.

  • Team player, with a demonstrated ability to foster and maintain effective, collaborative relationships with congregants, clergy, lay leaders and administrative colleagues.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, Outlook, file sharing such as Sharepoint and Google Drive. Knowledge of database and calendar management systems.
