Temple Sinai, a Reform congregation 1,600 families strong, is seeking an energetic, warm and creative professional to join our dynamic education department staff as one of our full time Youth & Teen Engagement Managers. Along with a fellow youth & teen professional, and with the support of Sinai’s Director of Youth & Teen Learning and Engagement, you will primarily facilitate the planning and execution of all engagement opportunities for students in grades K-6 throughout the year as well as work to build relationships with youth and teens who participate in our various Sunday morning programs and experiences.** Youth & Teen Engagement Managers are essential members of our education professional staff who help to envision, shape, and implement changes where necessary in the programmatic life of our congregation.

Qualities of an Ideal Candidate

A Temple Sinai Youth & Teen Engagement Manager should possess:

  • Experience working with youth and/or teens in a congregational and/or camp setting
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to build authentic relationships with youth, teens, and their parents
  • Collaborative working style and demonstrated capacity for creative thinking, leadership, and programming
  • Solid work ethic and proven reliability 
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and organizational skills
  • Comfort working in an environment rooted in Reform Jewish values and principles
  • Good sense of humor 


**Sinai’s Sunday programs and experiences include: Noar Sunday & Noar Hebrew (our religious school programs) and our teen engagement program - H.U.B. (Hadrachah u’Chesed v’Bina:Leadership through Kindness & Wisdom)




Salary - $55,000 + Health and Long Term Disability Insurance, Pension, and other benefits

Duties & Responsibilities


Youth Engagement

  • Serve as the primary relationship builder for youth in grades K-5, both those in Noar Sunday and those who attend Jewish Day Schools.
  • Create opportunities for students to establish friendships and build community.
  • Form relationships with parents to help them foster friendships for their children at Sinai.
  • Help to facilitate small groups for youth based on interest, geography, schools, etc.
  • Participate in congregational events involving youth and their families.

 Noar Sunday & Hebrew

     Your role in the Noar Sunday and Noar Hebrew programs will be determined in conjunction with the Director of 

     Youth & Teen Learning and Engagement, and informed by your particular skill set. Potential responsibilities:

  • Serve as “Rosh” (lead) or teacher in the Noar Sunday program.
  • Help to prepare needed supplies and materials ahead of Noar Sunday and Noar Hebrew.
  • Coordinate, manage and lead special enrichment programs for students in grades K-6. 
  • Help to build community with and among 4th- 6th grade Hebrew students who stay to learn after Noar Sunday, and provide administrative support for the Hebrew teachers. 

 Youth Groups

  • Coordinate and serve as lead relationship builder for informal programs to encourage participation among our youth, primarily for K-5th graders. 
  • Hire, train and supervise staff for youth group programs when necessary.
  • Coordinate efforts to engage participation by day school students in youth group programs.
  • Encourage participation in Jewish teen life throughout Atlanta, periodically attending events. 


  • In partnership with fellow Sinai staff, plan and implement trips and retreats for grades 4-6, overseeing logistics, promotion, and recruitment; provide assistance with retreat planning for grades 7-12 as necessary. 
  • Hire and onboard staff for trips and retreats.
  • Work with clergy to ensure their involvement and support of trips and retreats.

High Holy Day Youth Programs

  • In partnership with fellow education staff, support the development and implementation of youth and family programs for the High Holy Days.
  • Help prepare necessary materials for youth and family programs.
  • Supervise spaces for youth who are not participating in services.



    Temple Sinai’s Communications department and staff work to share information through multiple vehicles and 

     create a digital presence. The Youth Engagement Manager supports these efforts by:

  • Working with the Communications department to help enhance the digital identity of our youth program by providing content for weekly emails and photo management.
  • Overseeing communication efforts to Noar and day school families.
  • Responding in a timely manner to emails, phone calls, and texts from parents and staff.

Other Responsibilities

  • Attend Education Team, Program, and Full Staff meetings, as well as Youth & Family Committee meetings when requested.
  • Attend Consecration, Family Shabbats, and other departmental events.
  • Perform other job-related responsibilities as requested or necessary, as determined in conjunction with the Director of Youth & Teen Learning and Engagement.
