Position Summary

Responsible for the daily operations of Adamah Café & Catering including setting goals for culinary staff, writing and delegating daily workloads for culinary staff, quality control, and ensuring food safety and kosher-kitchen rules and standards are being upheld.


  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Culinary with 3-5 years experience in Food/Beverage operations OR related experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, corporate dining, education, military, health care, and/or related food service operations.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of product, service, quality, equipment and operations standards in line with a food and beverage operation
  • Demonstrates strong leadership/organization/communication/planning skills while building and managing a team of associates
  • Ability to manage and lead a culinary team of varying levels of experience.
  • Ability to work as a Chef under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Kitchen management: 2 years (Required)
  • Serv Safe certified or ability to gain certification within 6 months of start date
  • Previous experience working in a kosher kitchen and/or willingness to learn


  • The Executive Sous Chef & Culinary Manager will serve as a front-line manager and be responsible for supervising and controlling the work and product produced by kitchen employees
  • This includes management of food preparation, purchasing and receiving, inventory management, employee supervision
  • Supervise associates' daily activities; assign responsibilities and provide clear/concise instructions while offering suggestions for increased productivity and efficiency
  • Always provide the highest level of customer service quality
  • Control food cost to meet or exceed standards
  • Ensure compliance of all standards and procedures relating to HACCP and provincial workplace safety standards
  • Meet or exceed Brand established food quality and plating specifications
  • Responsible for training culinary team members and developing cross-trained skills
  • Assist Culinary Program Director in supervising café employees and ensuring proper procedures are being followed and highest food quality standards are being met.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for all associates while enforcing safety guidelines and kitchen safety awareness
  • Supervises inventory and estimates food/beverage costs and purchases supplies
  • Investigate and resolve service and food quality complaints
  • Monitor and maintain all quality control records including required checklists
  • Inspect food and food preparation to maintain the highest quality standards while adhering to all sanitation regulations
  • A thorough understanding of current procedures/business practices is imperative in ensuring continuous improvement in both customer and associate satisfaction
  • Depending on the needs of the business, regular schedule for this position is as follows:
    • Monday – Thursday | 10:00am – 6:30 pm
    • Friday | 2:00 pm – 10:00pm/Close
    • Off Saturdays and Sundays
  • Executive Sous Chef & Culinary Manager is expected to work major Jewish holidays including Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Chanukah, and Passover.


  • Competitive Annual Salary $45,000 - $52,000 Annually - based on experience.
