The ARK is an iconic, multi-faceted, community-funded social service agency with facilities on Chicago’s north side and in Northbrook. A number of free vital human services are offered within a framework of Jewish values to help Chicagoland Jewish families maintain or reach their optimal level of self-reliance.

We are currently seeking a full-time accomplished, innovative, and engaging mental health professional to work in our Intensive Day Program (IDP). The candidate will be experienced in working with individuals with mental health needs. This role demands highly effective communication with both clients and colleagues throughout The ARK, a collaborative style with an energetic willingness to contribute ideas, and full participation in regularly scheduled clinical meetings. The IDP Case Manager will also have an innovative and creative approach to developing and implementing ongoing programming.


*Provide intensive case management, including assistance with securing independent housing, access to benefits, and ongoing support for clients living independently in the community

*Provide psychotherapy, including weekly supportive counseling sessions with clients who are experiencing significant mental health challenges

*Develop and lead therapeutic and activity groups with program participants

*Ensure distribution of additional ARK services, including food pantry packages, food vouchers, bus passes, and other available assistance as needed  

*Identify and secure appropriate independent housing opportunities while supporting other clients who are living independently within the community

* Document all services provided, along with clinical case notes


* LSW or LPC credentials, or MA in mental-health related field (supervision for licensure will be provided)

*Computer proficiency required; familiarity/experience with Salesforce preferred

*Willingness to occasionally work in the field, including home visits and off-site social activities

*Experience in managing behaviors and in crisis intervention

*Strong aptitude for detail, organization, and prioritization

*Efficient time management skills, with the ability to effectively handle multiple demands simultaneously

*Knowledge of/familiarity with Jewish customs and traditions is required
