Job Description: Development Manager 

The Development Manager is responsible for developing and executing comprehensive fundraising plans/strategies to secure financial support to meet agreed upon goals. They must align with the synagogue's values and ambitions. This is a part-time position (20 to 30 hours per week). Will report to the Executive Director and work closely with the leadership of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Identify, cultivate, build and maintain relations with individuals and institutional donors. Forms of donor recognition must be devised.
  1. Support a leadership team to create and implement fundraising plans that include annual giving, major gifts, corporate giving, grants and sponsorship of events; among these types of donations, major gifts are the most important and must be tackled first.
  1. Ensure donor engagement through regular communications and updates on the impact of their contributions. Specific strategies must be designed for high-net worth individuals.
  1. Train volunteers in fundraising techniques to optimize participation and to meet goals.
  1. Maintain accurate records of donations and donor interactions/stewardship. Monitor and analyze fundraising data to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed. Develop reports on digital platforms. 

Personal Requirements 

  1. Minimum of a BA degree, CFRE certificate or equivalent.
  2. At least 5 years of increasing fundraising responsibility including campaign experience.
  3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  4. Proficiency in fundraising software.
  5. Familiarity with synagogues.
