Elementary School Hebrew Teacher Job Posting

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Hebrew teacher for grades 2 to 5. This is a part-time position, Monday through Thursday, 12:00–2:30 PM, with the possibility of expanded hours in the future.

The candidate selected for this position will be responsible for the supervision and management of a class of students ages eight to eleven. The ideal candidate will be a sensitive, warm, and mature individual who can effectively connect with and support both children and adults.

The selected candidate must be professionally prepared to teach elementary-aged children and meet the requirements established by the School. Ongoing support and mentoring will be provided by the Judaic and Hebrew Director throughout the year.

Job Responsibilities

These include, but will not be limited to the following:

  • Teach Hebrew in grades 2–3 using the Niflaot curriculum and in grades 4–5 using the Chaverim B’Ivrit curriculum.
  • Plan, document, supervise, and implement the program for the class in accordance with the policies and philosophy of the School.
  • Plan differentiated lessons using best teaching practices and strategies to support diverse learners' styles of learning and interests.
  • Design and implement meaningful lessons and inquiry-based projects that allow students to apply knowledge and skills in authentic contexts, promoting deeper understanding and long-term retention of content. 
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to take risks.
  • Provide collaborative support to colleagues and programs as needed, contributing to a positive and team-oriented work environment.
  • Evaluate student performance using a variety of assessment tools and strategies to assess the developmental and academic needs of all students.
  • Document student progress and maintain proper student files, ensuring accurate and meaningful information is available for report cards, parent-teacher conferences, and student support meetings
  • Supervise children on the playground, in classrooms, and on field trips.
  • Collaborate with administration on student health, safety, or other concerns. 
  • Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs, and conferences.
  • Conduct parent conferences.
  • Participate in recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional growth.
  • Participate in recruitment events and other school-sponsored programs.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prior elementary teaching experience preferred.
  • Empathy for the needs and diverse dynamics of families within the school community.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills; collaborative and team-oriented.
  • Flexible and supportive approach to working with colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills; self-motivated and dependable.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to the mission of Ilan Ramon Day School.
  • Willingness to participate in professional development and contribute to the advancement of both individual and school-wide goals.

Salary Range
$40 to $50 per hour
