Director of Jewish Education

Temple Judea is searching for a full-time, dynamic and passionate leader to direct our religious school and youth programming. We are a 120-family and growing, egalitarian, close-knit Conservative congregation, located in FortMyers, Florida. Our goal is to continue to develop our programs of youth education to inspire a love of Jewish learning in our youngest congregants.

Responsibilities Include:

• Organization of twice weekly religious school education for our kindergarten to post-Bar/Bat Mitzvah students (t’filot, Jewish holidays, Hebrew reading and vocabulary, Israel studies).
• Hiring and developing religious school teachers.
• Developing the curriculum and annual schedule for the religious school.
• Developing special programming for our religious school students (religious school Shabbats, Purim carnivals, High Holiday services, etc).
• Creating and implementing programs that bring children and parents into Shabbat and holiday services, including Tot Shabbats.
• Communicating regularly with the religious school parents, the Rabbi, and lay leadership within the temple.
• Interfacing with our vibrant preschool program and its Director.
• Involvement in the greater Jewish community to engage new families.

Qualifications:

• Experience in Jewish education.
• Hebrew knowledge.
• Ability to teach within the religious school.
• Leadership experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Familiarity with social media outreach.
• Willingness to work cooperatively.
