Position Summary: The Institutional Advancement Associate is a full-time staff member who reports directly to the Director of Institutional Advancement. The Associate supports the Director and IA team colleagues with development (fundraising campaigns, grants management, donor cultivation and stewardship) communications, and alumni relations to achieve institutional advancement goals aligned with Gratz’s College’s mission and strategic plan.  

Location: In-person and Remote, Philadelphia area 

Responsibilities 

  • Campaigns: support the Director in coordinating campaigns, including a capital campaign and annual fundraising campaigns; cultivate new and recurring donors. 
  • Grants Development: research grant opportunities, maintain a grants calendar to manage submission, and reporting deadlines; support the Director in writing and preparing grant proposals and reports. 
  • Donor Cultivation and Stewardship: support the Director in conducting individual donor outreach (phone, email), preparing donor reports and updates; organize engagement opportunities for donors; cultivate new donors. 
  • Alumni Relations: serve as the point of contact for alumni; cultivate alumni giving; support Commencement programming and outreach; coordinate programs based on alumni interests; organize alumni volunteers for campaigns and programs; manage content and engagement of alumni groups on Gratz’s social media channels. 
  • Data Analytics: utilize Raiser’s Edge CRM reporting and analytics tools to help track and report on progress towards development and alumni engagement goals; generate and track donor leads, identify lapsed donors and major donor prospects. 
  • Communications: support the IA and Marketing Directors in developing campaign materials, annual reports, press releases, social media content, website content, and other communications. 

Qualifications & Competencies 

 Bachelor’s degree  

  • Three years of relevant experience in the nonprofit and/or higher education sector (preferred) 
  • Experience with CRM databases (preferred) 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders  
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills  
  • Ability to work independently, with supervision  
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
