Description

We are seeking a Part-Time, hourly skilled Shul Administrator. This is an hourly position that is mostly remote, but may require occasional in-person work at the Shul, which is located on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The ideal candidate has experience in customer service, communications (specifically email and social media), event planning, and administration/operations. Experience with the ShulCloud platform is a plus, as is past experience working at a synagogue or other Jewish institution.

Communications

? Prepare & distribute weekly newsletter, referencing community announcements, Rabbi’s

weekly column, calendar of events, etc.

? Manage Shul’s email account & email communication with members

? Distribute all mass emails, including upcoming holiday & event announcements, and

targeted emails for specific email lists such as Womens’ Tefillah Group & StantonKIDS

? Maintain up-to-date website & Shul calendar, including life cycle events such as

Yahrtzeits, birthdays, anniversaries, etc.

? Manage Shul Zoom account, including monthly virtual Board meetings, and update

Youtube channel

? Create and distribute promotional materials via email and social media for events

Event Planning

? Organize Kiddush logistics (planning menu and ordering food, coordinating delivery,

staffing for prep + cleaning, etc.) on a weekly basis for Shabbat day, as well as for all

relevant Jewish holidays, community dinners, and special Shul events

? Organize logistics for annual Shul Benefit

Donations

? Manage and enter donations into ShulCloud and keep ShulCloud database up-to-date

? Follow up on donations with members and track donations for specific annual campaigns

? Prepare and distribute tax letters for all eligible donors on an annual basis

Membership

? Facilitate annual membership drive by preparing invoices and tracking new

memberships & membership renewals

Produce Annual Bulletin

? Coordinate with graphic designer and Shul congregants to edit, produce and distribute

annual bulletin (both print and electronic versions), featuring articles written by officers

and members, photos from events, event calendar for the upcoming year and schedule

for High Holidays

Miscellaneous

? Manage access to building space, including for outside groups

? Manage issues with appliances in the building space on an as-needed basis

? Other tasks, as-needed
