 Summer Song Leaders Needed!

 

At Camp Kingswood song leadaers are responsible for overseeing and managing music programs.You promote a culture of music, singing, and ruach (spirit) at camp. The Songleader works closely with other camp staff to create a vibrant and engaging camp experience. Supervisory and specialist level roles available. 

Specifically you: 

  • Lead song sessions at meals, creating an inclusive and participatory atmosphere where campers and staff can join in singing and dancing.
  • Thoughtfully choose songs to play at key moments in the camp day, such as wake-up, flagpole, meal times, and evening programs, to elevate the energy and mood of the community.
  • Assist in leading engaging and interactive Shabbat services, incorporating meaningful songs and rituals to create a memorable spiritual experience for campers and staff.
  • Bring energy and spirit to Friday night Ruach Song Sessions, leading songs that encourage participation, dancing, and enthusiasm among campers and staff.
  • Lead songs at campfires and closing night programs, creating a sense of community and togetherness through music and song.
  • Assist in the setup and maintenance of audio equipment and musical instruments used in song sessions and performances, ensuring they are in good working condition and properly stored.
  • Develop and implement music electives that are engaging, age-appropriate, and aligned with camp goals and values.
  • Coordinate all aspects of music productions, including opening and closing campfires. 
  • Ensure that all necessary supplies and equipment for music programs are organized, well-maintained, and available for use.
  • Provide guidance, instruction, and feedback to campers to enhance their skills and abilities in  music, while promoting creativity and positive teamwork.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive environment for campers and staff in music programs, promoting respect, creativity, and enjoyment of the arts.
  • Coordinate scheduling and staffing for the music programs, ensuring proper coverage and staffing levels at all times.
  • Enforce safety protocols and guidelines for all activities, including proper use of equipment, warm-up and cool-down exercises, and injury prevention measures.
  • Manage and maintain inventory of theater and music equipment, props, and costumes, ensuring adequate supplies are available for productions.
  • Assist with other camp activities and events as needed, including camp-wide performances, talent shows, and special events.
  • Connect with campers through participation in evening programs and regular visits to cabins at bedtime to read stories, play guitar, or engage in other appropriate activities.
Salary2,500.00 - 10,000.00 Annual
