NCSY Connects with Jewish teens through innovative, cutting-edge social and recreational programs to develop a positive Jewish identity. NCSY Inspires Jewish teens and their connection to Israel through informal Jewish education, retreats and summer programs. NCSY Empowers teens through leadership development.


The Major Gifts Director provides leadership to a comprehensive program to secure significant new and increasing funding support from individuals, families, foundations and/or selected corporations to advance the mission of the organization and to build resources in conjunction with the overall strategic development plan of Southern NCSY.


  • Manage a portfolio of individual major and planned gift donors ($10,000 and above)
  • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward major gifts
  • Track development activity by entering donor interactions and strategies into the fundraising database
  • Work closely with the Southern NCSY leadership to develop and successfully execute strategies that will increase the number of major donors and achieve annual goals
  • Create ways to link donors’ interests with NCSY programs and volunteer opportunities
  • Create presentations in order to build cases for support
  • Recruit and steward major donors through engagement activities
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned by the Chief Development Officer


  • A Bachelor's degree is required; professional credentials or advanced degrees are desirable
  • 5+ years of successful experience in major or planned gift fundraising
  • Ability to understand the needs and interest of leadership and major gift donors in order to develop relationships between them and NCSY
  • Demonstrated ability to Ability to thrive under deadlines, drive results, multi-task and work with a sense of urgency
  • Successful experience in prospecting and identifying new donors, as well as developing, cultivation and solicitation strategies
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of success
  • Understanding of, and competency in, Moves Management process is required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
