Position:                           Religious School Office Manager

Department:                   Religious School

Supervisor:                      Religious School Director

Status:                                Non-Exempt, Hourly

 

Work Schedule (September-May):    

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM- 5:30 PM
  • Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM- 4:00 PM

Work Schedule (June-August)

  • Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM- 5:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM-4:00 PM

 

POSITION SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Religious School Director, this position supports and ensures the smooth operation of Sinai Temple’s robust K-7th grade Religious School.   This position is the face of the Religious School.    With a customer service mindset, this individual is on the front lines for Religious School parents and teachers, providing information and problem-solving support in a timely manner.  This individual manages the many moving pieces of a busy, fast-paced office, including but not limited to:  responding to teacher and parent requests, ordering supplies, preparing for school-wide events, collaborating with other Temple staff members, etc.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Assist with student enrollment and registration
    • Enter family and student information into ShulCloud School module
    • Supports families in completion of registration documents
    • Collaborate with Finance department to assist families in setting up payment plans
    • Follow-up with Rel. School families with open balances on their accounts
  • Monitor financial activities of the department
    • Event and Program Budgeting
    • Check Requests/Reimbursements
    • Monthly credit card reconciliation
    • Management of monthly operating budget
  • Attendance
    • Tracking and monitoring student attendance
    • Communication with teachers regarding student attendance
  • Assist in and preparing materials for events and programs
  • Updating documents
  • Order supplies for teachers and office
  • Oversee clerical tasks: sorting, filing, copying, sending mail, etc.
  • Keep an inventory of office supplies and submitting an order as needed.
  • Update paperwork, maintaining documents and word processing.
  • Perform general office duties, assisting with file updates, making copies as needed.
  • Assist with correspondences for all education programs and events (publicity, lesson plans, progress reports, etc.).
  • Assist with coordination of school wide holiday events.
  • Serve as the primary contact for all room set-ups for all religious school events and classes, activities and shared room use.

 

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Skills Required: database, typing (60wpm) analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet critical deadlines, prioritize and execute tasks
  • Efficient and savvy in work completion
  • Time management and ability to work well under minimal supervision for project completion
  • Have a valid driver’s license (or a reliable means to get to work)
  • Familiar with Judaism or is willing to learn
  • Is physically able to perform all functions of job, (lift and put away office supplies, occasionally run errands or do shopping)

 

TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Proficient in social media and digital communications. Can express self in writing, competent with letter writing, English grammar and composition.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent

 

SALARY RANGE

$27.00-$30.00/hour based on experience and skill set
