Job Title: Youth Programs Advisor 

Beth Meyer Synagogue in Raleigh, NC, a Jewish house of worship and learning community, invites applications for employment as a part-time Youth Programs Advisor. An indispensable partner to the Director of Religious School and Family Programs, the Youth Programs Advisor coordinates activities and initiatives to empower tweens and teens to experience inclusive sacred community and find connection in Jewish tradition. 

 The Youth Programs Advisor is a quarter-time position--on average, the Advisor works ten hours per week. The work schedule varies with public school and Jewish calendars, and weekend hours are frequently required.  

Job Responsibilities: 

1. Communications Writing. Prepare and distribute regular electronic communications to families to preview scheduled activities and share stories of youth development. Send follow-up messages as required to coordinate event registration. Engage in youth outreach and recruitment.
2. Program Administration. Design and implement social programming and holiday events for middle and high school youth in coordination with volunteers and staff. Execute supervisory responsibilities and set-up and clean-up and procure supplies.  
3. Stakeholder Engagement. Support teen leadership of USY, a Jewish youth movement. Serve as primary point of contact for USY branch professionals and secondary point of contact for youth program inquiries.      

Qualifications:

• Experience working with youth in educational or recreational settings.
• Strong Jewish identity and understanding of Jewish principles.
• Strong organizational, collaboration, and communications skills.
• Social media savvy and comfortable using digital tools (email, Canva, WhatsApp) to promote events and engage teens/tweens and families.
• Ability to serve as a Jewish role model.
