Position Summary: 

This is a wonderful opportunity for a mental health provider looking for a rich experience that involves work at the individual, group, and organizational level.  You will use a prevention lens to impact older individuals, groups and aging service provider organizations looking for practical ways to improve behavioral health. 

The Mental Health and Aging Education and Training Manager is housed in Services for Older Adults and delivers education, training, consultation, and engagement activities (for providers and older adults) focused on promoting mental health and wellness. This position is a key contributor within the Services for Older Adults division as well as a resource within JF&CS around mental health planning and services.

You will work with a team of colleagues who are addressing the social determinants of mental health. Your contribution will complement these services with psychosocial groups, therapeutic arts and community education.

This position offers a remote and in-person model of flexible employment. Some team meetings and other activities will require you to be in-person in Waltham and in the community while others will involve hybrid and on-line activity.

This is a full-time position with benefits.  We provide both individual and peer group supervision.

During your workday, you will: 

  • Develop and deliver mental health related education, training and consultation services for older adults and providers.
  • Represent JF&CS in the community by maintaining and growing collaborations and services.
  • Provide supervision for staff and interns and provide staff training as appropriate.
  • Collaborate in efforts across the organization around development and delivery of JF&CS mental health related services.
  • Oversee reporting, budgeting and deliverables for specific mental health projects/services.
  • Use client management system to track and document all aspects of client-interfacing work.

What can you bring to this position? 

  • Master's Degree in Social Work or related field required. Licensure preferred. 
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated experience working with older adults.
  • Aptitude for and excitement around providing education, training, and facilitation with groups of adults or providers.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Outlook).
