ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY:                             

Israel Tennis and Education Centers Foundation (ITEC) seeks a mission-driven, ambitious, and innovative lead fundraiser for New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to serve as the Vice President of Development—Tristate (VP).

Reporting to and working closely with ITEC’S new Executive Director (ED), Karin Buchholz, the VP is responsible for the leadership, strategic direction, and significant expansion of ITEC’s development program across the Tri-State region, with a particular focus on growing major giving and diversifying revenue. In partnership with senior leadership, the VP will build, manage, and strengthen campaigns, donor stewardship, and fundraising events to bolster financial resources and community engagement.                                                 

Key responsibilities include:

Development Strategy and Fundraising

  • Develop, manage, and execute overall department strategy to ensure long-term, recurring, and diversified fund development that meets the needs of the organization.
  • Personally manage and grow a portfolio of current and prospective donors at all levels of giving capacity; work closely with the ED to strategize, manage, and steward major donors and prospects in the ED’s portfolio.
  • Collaborate with the ED and Board to identify and cultivate individual, corporate, and foundation major gifts prospects, and implement closing and stewardship strategies.
  • Oversee a program that ensures that corporate/foundation grantors, prospects, and partners receive accurate and timely proposals and reports.
  • Manage and actively participate in virtual and in-person fundraising events by reimagining annual event platforms and target audiences.

Organizational Leadership and Board Relations

  • As a member of the North America leadership team, contribute to the organization's vision, strategy, and cultural development. Represent ITEC with unimpeachable integrity every day.
  • Partner with the ED to implement comprehensive fundraising campaigns throughout the year focused on recurring revenue and new donor acquisition.
  • Partner with the ED and Board on board management, including identification and recruitment of new members, and engagement and solicitation of existing members.
  • Provide leadership and support to staff and Board members to strengthen their storytelling skills and ability to participate in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors.
  • In consultation with the program team, provide insights and advise on the preparation of marketing materials to ensure optimal brand positioning and messaging to supporters.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will bring 7+ years of senior leadership and fundraising experience, including close collaboration with a CEO/ED and management of boards and staff. They will have demonstrated success in individual and institutional fundraising, especially in cultivating and closing major gifts.

EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.

COMPENSATION: The salary range for this position is from $150,000-$180,000 based on the candidate’s job-specific experience and skills.

ITEC now has 17 centers throughout Israel, many of them in underprivileged neighborhoods, providing disadvantaged children with a safe, structured, and nurturing environment.
