We are seeking a cantorial student, cantorial soloist or cantor to become a second voice on the bimah and work with our Rabbi for the Yamim Nora-im, the High Holy Days.
We are a Reform congregation with a mature demographic. We use Mishkan HaNefesh for our High Holy Day liturgy, and we are a kehillah that loves to sing and participate.
We are looking for someone who is familiar with the High Holy Day davening, Reform liturgy, High Holy Day nusach, and trope. There will be a small amount of Torah reading and haftarah as well. We conduct services on Rosh HaShanah Eve, one day of Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur (Kol Nidre – the end). The ability to accompany yourself on guitar is a plus and we do have an accompanist. For the correct candidate we are offering between $3500 - $5000, based on experience. The service will be in person and on Zoom.
Please send your resume, a recording or video of you singing Kol Nidre and two congregational melodies for the Yamim Nora-im that you would be able to lead/teach. In addition, please feel free to add any other relevant information that you believe will be helpful for us to make a decision.
