About the Role
As Congregation Beth Elohim (CBE) grows, we seek an entry-level communications and marketing assistant who is highly organized, self-motivated, and collaborative.
This person will support our efforts in communications and marketing; they will report to the Communications and Marketing Director. This position has room for career growth and is a great way to develop skills in effective digital and print communications, marketing, and community engagement.
Successful candidates for this role will enjoy problem solving; understand and appreciate the nuances of working in a Jewish community; be able to manage multiple projects at once; and have the drive, ability, and creativity to help strengthen communications across multiple channels.
This is an in-person position that requires working with CBE’s professional staff, clergy, and members of the congregation.The right candidate will have a sense of humor and be comfortable with people of all ages, abilities, and viewpoints in order to help us achieve our goal of being the friendliest congregation in New York.

Key Responsibilities:
Implement day-to-day communications and marketing work including emails, social media, signage, graphic design, and website updates.
Provide support for Shabbat services, evening events, and High Holy Days as part of the engagement team.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required
Experience and eagerness to learn more about HTML coding and Wordpress
Experience and eagerness to learn more about project management software, and Office software including Excel (or Google Sheets)
Graphic design experience preferred
Strong writing skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at once, change gears at a moment’s notice
Willingness to adjust hours based on seasonal needs (i.e. During the High Holy Days and staffing Shabbat services on occasion)
Salary offered between $50,000 and $60,000, based upon demonstrable experience, plus benefits.
