Full job description
The Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Boston (JCRC) is a coalition of organizations and individuals that represents and advances the values, interests, and priorities of the organized Jewish community in Greater Boston. Through our network of agencies, our programs, and our partnerships, we:
- Serve as a catalyst for building a strong and vibrant Jewish community in Boston and around the world
- Advocate for a safe, secure, Jewish, and democratic State of Israel
- Promote an American society which is democratic, pluralistic, and just
The Strategic Initiatives and Holocaust Program Manager is responsible for building and implementing engagement of the Jewish community in JCRC’s Holocaust programming, including stewardship of the NEHM educational programs and the annual Yom HaShoah commemoration. In addition to this primary focus, the Program Manager will contribute to other mission aligned programs across the public affairs and community relations portfolio.
This position reports to the Chief of Public Affairs and Community Relations and must be based in the Boston metropolitan area. JCRC is currently hybrid and requires employees to be in the office 3 days a week.
Responsibilities Include:
- Build external partnerships and support coalitions that further the goals and strategic mission of JCRC
- Plan, coordinate, and manage advocacy programs and events to support JCRC policy agenda
- Manage program data collection and reporting to tracks outcomes. Effectively communicate progress to the JCRC Board, funders, and key stakeholders.
- Lead the planning and execution of JCRC’s annual Yom HaShoah Holocaust Commemoration, including convening and managing the Yom HaShoah Committee, coordinating logistics, budget, communications, and partner engagement. Organize additional Holocaust-related programs such as the Yizkor Service and International Holocaust Remembrance Day, with a focus on education and honoring the local survivor community.
- Expand and oversee educational programming connected to the New England Holocaust Memorial (NEHM) including tours, special programming, and updating and enhancing educational materials as needed
- Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts to enhance the impact and visibility of JCRC’s programs and initiatives additional responsibilities assigned by the Chief of Public Affairs and Community Relations
Requirements:
- Five or more years of directly applicable experience required
- Three years of related experience preferred, preferably in non-profit, education, or program management
- Strong written and verbal skills
- Proficiency in email communication and standard office software, including word processing
- Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, mission driven environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholder’s relationships
- Bachelor’s degree
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $55,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience.
