About the Israel Guide Dog Center for the Blind: For more than three decades, the Center has bred, raised, trained and partnered specially trained dogs with Israelis who are blind, have PTSD, autism, and other challenges. Our US efforts focus on nationwide fundraising and outreach.

 

We seek an experienced, passionate, and connected fundraiser based in South Florida to play a crucial role in increasing the Center’s outreach and development efforts in the Southeastern US. This position is a full-time remote role with office space available in Delray Beach, Florida. The salary range is $75,000-$90,000 and will be commensurate with experience. This position is initially funded for one year; renewal is contingent upon the Officer’s ability to meet fundraising targets. The role will be jointly managed by the Executive Director and the Director of Development.

 

Responsibilities:

The Development Officer will be responsible for all stages of fundraising to increase the total giving and number of donors in the Southeast. This includes prospective and current/lapsed donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship. The successful candidate will utilize in-person and virtual communications, help facilitate and execute events, and bring Israeli clients and ambassadors to speak to groups. The Development Officer will track all fundraising activities in the CRM and generate periodic reports, as well as additional relevant tasks as needed including, but not limited to: Board support, public outreach, event support, and giving presentations to groups such as synagogues, country clubs, and schools.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of progressive development experience managing a portfolio of donors including identification, cultivation, solicitation, recognition, and stewardship
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and ability to multitask efficiently
  • Proficiency in Google products including Gmail, docs, sheets, calendar; donor management software, and digital fundraising platforms
  • Comfortable having planned gift conversations (expertise not required)
  • Ability to travel within the Southeast as needed; must have a valid driver’s license and access to a car
  • Must be willing to travel to Israel upon hiring

 

Measures of Success:

  • Achievement of fundraising targets related to new, renewed, and upgraded donors for annual campaigns, special projects, capital projects, monthly donors, and legacy donors, as appropriate
  • Successful execution of fundraising events and campaigns
  • Timely and accurate reporting on fundraising activities
