The Jewish Community School is an exciting and new collaboration of several Los Angeles-based synagogues to create the most engaging and exciting Jewish education program in the city. The focus of our Jewish Community School is to give our students the tools to become successful Jewish adults. We prepare our students for the world by teaching them to cultivate compassion, empathy and practical skills through Project Based Learning paired with interdisciplinary STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) education. We teach our students how to weave their Jewish identity into their 21st-centry selves to discover a life full of meaning. You are a good candidate for this position if you are:
Creative, growth-minded, enthusiastic and knowledgeable about Jewish education. Organized, detail oriented and a self-starter. Comfortable interacting with students, teachers and parents.
On-site supervisor for school on Sunday mornings. Ensure that all teachers have adequate set-ups and materials. Greet students and parents. Manage any students and parents. Manage any student behavioral problems that the teachers cannot manage. Responsible for the flow of the religious school day and all on site logistics. Substitute teaching may be required on a last minute basis. CPR/1st Aid Certified (will provide training if needed).
work with teachers each school week to answer any questions and troubleshoot problems. Answer parent and site-staff emails.
