Description

The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for written and digital content creation for Hebrew College. They write, edit, and distribute stories, press releases, email campaigns, and provide strategic guidance to staff and senior leaders across the College. They also assist with social media strategy and social media posting as needed. They are part of the College’s Marketing team, which includes the Chief Marketing Officer and Creative Manager, and report to the Chief Marketing Officer.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Writes, edits, and distributes feature stories and other print and digital content (including multimedia) that showcase the mission and vision of Hebrew College for the College website, newsletters, email campaigns, social media, annual report, brochures, and other platforms.
  • Serves as liaison between Marketing & Miller Center for Interreligious Leadership & Learning.
  • Possible light design work using PhotoShop and/or Canva.
  • Works with weekly Torah blog editor and posts blog on multiple internal and external platforms.
  • Maintains relationships with news media and Jewish press and maintains a media database.

 

Requirements:         

  • Bachelor's degree required. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience and proven success in marketing communications and/or journalism.
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to adapt a story for multiple media outlets (website, blogs, social media, etc.)
  • Disciplined communicator, writer, and editor, able to create communications that reflect the needs of stakeholders and the organization.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and a commitment to the mission of education, scholarship, and research.
  • A skilled multi-tasker able to develop communications across platforms . Experience in higher education, non-profits, a plus.
  • Deadline oriented and driven by a fast-paced environment.
  • An eager, spirited team player, ready to invest in a process or project and jump in to fill required needs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, WordPress, Email platforms (Emma Marketing), PhotoShop, and social media platforms. Canva, video and audio editing a plus.

 

Salary

$50,000 for 36 hours/week, with some flexibility for part-time option. Friday half days all year. May work on site or remotely.
