Description

We are seeking a creative and passionate lead teacher for our Early Childhood program.  

The candidate should have the following attributes:

  • Have enthusiasm to teach young children
  • A desire to learn
  • Ability and desire to create a loving, nuturing and warm learning environment
  • A desire to work alongside a great team
  • Familiarity with planning lessons with support provided 
  • Understand the basics of motor child development
  • Ability to develop a child centered classroom where children learn throug play and exploration
  • Responsible for child and classroom assessment activities including recordkeeping, child observations with support from the director
  • Ability to communicate with parents, work collaboratively with colleagues and possess good interpersonal skills

Qualifications

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education and be in the process of obtaining a Master's Degree
  • Experience working with children under the age of six in an Early Childhood setting
  • Possess or be on track to obtain one of the following New York State teaching certificates:
  • Early Childhood (Birth - Gr. 2)
  • Common Branch (N-6)
  • Students with Disabilities (Birth - Gr. 2)

This is a school year school day positon

The schoold day starts at 8AM and finishes at 3:50 with early dismissal on Fridays
