Who We Are:
Moishe (pronounced moy-shuh) House is what being Jewish in your 20s is all about. Launched in 2006 when four friends began hosting Shabbat dinners in their home, Moishe House provides a space for over 70,000 young adults around the world to create meaningful, welcoming Jewish communities for themselves and their peers each year. To date, there are more than 150 communities in over 40 countries, and we’re still growing!
The Director, House and Pod Programs is responsible for supervision of Community Managers, oversight of Moishe House and Pod, programming, and company-wide initiatives, in order to maintain the high level of quality in Moishe Houses while achieving continuity and leadership. The Director of House and Pod Programs will serve as thought leader and execute the department’s plan of house and pod growth and stability, develop and supervise Community Managers, and be responsible for achievement of the quantitative and qualitative results.

- You will:
- Provide direct supervision, training, development, coaching, and performance management to Community Managers as they oversee Moishe Houses and Pods in their regions;
- Oversee operations in your regions by managing staff, working with Community Managers to set and achieve goals and numeric benchmarks, tracking trends, reporting program data, predicting potential problems, troubleshooting issues as needed, and supervising health and safety regulations;
- Ensure that all regional KPIs are met;
- Lead and/or contribute to department-and organization-wide initiatives such as the Resident conference, annual fundraising campaigns, and new Resident recruitment;
- Create policy and processes for the department;
- Partner with Resident Support Leadership to develop new policies related to the success of Moishe Houses and Pods;
- Regularly collaborate with other members of the Program and Development teams toward goal/program achievement.
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree; four years’ additional related full-time work experience may be substituted for the degree.
- You have a minimum of 5 years’ post-undergraduate relevant full-time professional experience, with a minimum of 2 years’ leadership and direct management/supervisory experience with full-time employees, including performance management, employee development, and coaching.
- You have 2 years’ direct experience with Moishe House (preferred) or other nonprofit organizations.
- You demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication abilities across all levels of an organization.
- You are organized, proactive, deliver results, and demonstrate independent leadership.
- You have the ability to take risks and learn from unexpected situations when things don’t turn out as planned.
- You are able to monitor several projects at all times, to work well under pressure, and to work across various teams and time zones.
- You demonstrate intermediate-level to advanced-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel), Salesforce (preferred), and other office management tools.

- You have eligibility to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

The Fine Print:
The Director, House and Pod Programs is a full-time, exempt, year-round position, and requires weekday office hours to complete job requirements. This position works in one of our U.S. Hub offices (Encinitas, Chicago, New York, Washington, D.C., or Charlotte), with preference for Encinitas. This position is supervised by the Sr. Director, North American House & Pod Programs.
Our team works a hybrid schedule in one of our U.S. Hub Offices, where employees can choose to work remotely 2 days per week and collaborate in-person with coworkers the rest of the week.
Moishe House requires “full vaccination” for all staff to travel, work in offices, and participate in any Moishe House group gatherings. We use the CDC’s definition of “full vaccination” as the standard, with variations based on country as needed.

How Moishe House Pays You:
- Moishe House’s starting salary ranges are based on education, experience, location, and skillset required for each role
- This is a full-time exempt position:
- Charlotte, NC: $68,000-$72,000/year
- Chicago, IL or Encinitas, CA: $75,000-$80,000/year
- NYC or DC: $81,000-$85,000/year
- Annual merit-based salary increase
