Religious School Music /Dance Teacher

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Music and Dance Teacher to join our after-school Hebrew school program. The ideal candidate will have a passion for Jewish culture, music, and dance, and the ability to engage children in meaningful and joyful learning experiences. This role includes leading weekly classes that incorporate Jewish music and Israeli dance, preparing students for holiday celebrations and performances, and fostering a love for Jewish identity through the arts. We meet on Monday afternoons starting at 3:45PM, September through May. 

Responsibilities:

• Plan and lead age-appropriate music and dance activities for children in grades 1-7.
• Incorporate Hebrew songs, Jewish holiday music, and Israeli folk dance into lessons.
• Teach students songs and choreography for community events and holiday celebrations.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate music and movement with the overall curriculum.
• Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Set up, clean up, and maintain materials and equipment related to music and dance instruction.
• Communicate with parents and staff as needed regarding student progress and performances.

Qualifications:

• Experience teaching music and/or dance to children, preferably in a Jewish educational setting.
• Knowledge of Jewish music, Israeli dance, and Hebrew language is strongly preferred.
• Ability to play an instrument (especially guitar or keyboard) is a plus.
• Strong classroom management skills and ability to engage groups of children.
• Enthusiastic, reliable, and organized.
• Must be available during program hours and for occasional special events or performances.
