Come join Congregation Beth Sholom in creating and delivering engaging and inspiring content for our weekly Shabbat morning youth program! We are looking for someone part-time to develop and lead programming. This is a great opportunity to support a vibrant religious education program in a progressive Modern Orthodox community in Providence, Rhode Island.

The Youth Engagement and Education Leader (YEEL) serves to support and lead the educational programs of Congregation Beth Sholom (CBS). This position is generally part-time (5 hours/week) with additional time during High Holidays and reports to the Rabbi. The YEEL is responsible for the logistics and details related to the operation of the youth programming.

The YEEL will lead youth programming on a regular basis, as well as oversee the administrative elements of the programming. Through partnership and collaboration with the Rabbi and CBS colleagues, the ideal candidate will be successful in connecting with others consistently and embodying the mission of the synagogue. Work done during the week prepares for our program on Shabbat (Saturday) mornings.

Regularly 5 hours/week:
Saturdays: Mornings, exact hours TBD
Weekdays: Flexible 2 hours
Special Requests
High Holidays: Additional time to be added after discussion with Rabbi
Some evenings (as needed for planned events or meetings)
Note: During summer months/school vacations, some weekly services may be
canceled and credited toward other engagement times.

Program Management & Administrative:
Work with Rabbi and Youth Engagement Committee to plan weekly and special youth programming
Send reminders to families about upcoming programs
Coordinate weekly volunteers and snacks
Room and material set-up and clean-up

? Knowledge of the Jewish community environment, education, and ritual practices, especially Orthodox Judaism, is helpful

Compensation: $20/hour
