In office (Wyncote, PA) Hybrid/remote is a possibility

35/hours per week (schedule to be determined)

Salary: $55,000 - $62,000/annual plus HRA, paid Jewish and secular holidays, and vacation. 

 

The RRA is the professional association of Reconstructionist rabbis. We are the primary source of professional development, skills development, employment services and resources for our members – based primarily in North America with a growing presence in Israel and Europe. We are the rabbinic voice of the Reconstructionist movement of Judaism, and a Reconstructionist voice in the public square on issues of Jewish concern and social justice. We are also a community of practice whose members care about one another and seek to engage with each other thoughtfully for mutual benefit and support. The Office Administrator reports to the Executive Director.

 

Job Description

 

Accounting and bookkeeping

 

  • Maintain Quickbooks, PayPal and bank accounts
  • Handle all accounts receivable and payable
  • Prepare and submit monthly payroll to ADP; prepare and submit monthly pension checks
  • Bill membership dues and related record keeping
  • Prepare records for annual audit, and work closely with auditing firm staff
  • Document Hesed Fund transactions

 

Administration

  • Handle phone reception and association mail and email, particularly in regards to member support
  • Maintain and order office supplies
  • Maintain and update RRA database (Salesforce) and mailing lists
  • Handle bulk mailings and emails to members
  • Fill orders for products sold by RRA (certificates, mailing label lists, etc.)
  • Maintain filing system and records
  • Maintain and file member documents and life-cycle documents

 

Program logistics

  • Set and maintain RRA program calendar 
  • Set up and manage webinars and online programming
  • Manage, track and record member participation
  • Pre- and post-program communication
  • Logistics for in-person gatherings
  • Assist convention and event chairs/staff as needed
  • Assist the Executive Director with special programs and projects

 

Governance management 

  • Coordination of committee reports, board minutes, scheduling of committee meetings, track term limits and position vacancies
  • Communicate with Reconstructing Judaism staff on schedules and calendaring when appropriate

 

Communications 

  • Format and edit weekly e-newsletter which includes collating job opportunities, program resources from inside and outside the agency, event notifications and other information for members   
  • Online communications via email campaigns, Facebook, Twitter and listserv
  • Program communication
  • Manage and update website
  • Document and follow member life-cycle events for newsletter inclusion, condolence notices, congratulatory letters, etc.

 

 

Requirements:  Minimum 5 years work experience required, BA or higher preferred.  Must know Quickbooks (online), Google Suite, Microsoft Office, SaleForce and Mailchimp (or similar).
