Teen Coordinator

Society for the Advancement of Judaism | New York, NY, United States

Posted Date 8/10/2022
Description

SAJ - Judaism That Stands For All, is the first ever Reconstructionist Synagogue. Formerly known as the Society for the Advancement of Judaism, and founded by Rabbi Mordecai Kaplan, we are celebrating our Centennial in 2022.  We are a warm community of 260 family units, with approximately 70 students in the school. We are rooted in progressive values, social justice, and innovative ritual in the modern world.

Our synagogue is a multi-racial and multi-cultural community, and queer, nonbinary, and trans affirming community.

We appreciate educators who have a background in art, theater, song-leading, activism, camp, and/or social-emotional skill-building.  Staff may come from any denomination, with a curiosity to learn about Reconstructing Judaism. Teachers who are reflective practitioners, have strong communication, and enjoy collaborating with creative ideas, tend to thrive in our program.

SAJ requires all in-person participants to be vaccinated against Covid and wear a mask until further notice.
