About the Role

The Senior Accountant is a key player in the Finance team and reports to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Primarily responsible for the analysis of general ledger accounts, reconciliations, and audit schedules. 

Essential Job Duties

General Ledger Analysis, Reconciliation and Audit Schedules

  • Analysis of certain general ledger accounts, including cash, investments prepaid expenses, and accrued liabilities
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and troubleshooting with the banks and regional chapters
  • Analyzes of interest earned account for each bank account
  • Analyzes Realized and Unrealized Gains/Losses
  • Assist, prepare, review and send year-end 1099’s
  • Assist with testing requests on audit questions and analysis
  • Assists CFO, controller, and Finance staff with queries and analyses
  • Other Assets / Liabilities
  • Monthly Close
  • Management Reporting (Including Statement of Cash Flows)
  • Record Cash
  • Record Gift Annuities
  • Ad Hoc
  • Other finance/accounting projects as requested

Analyze and Post Revenues from Raiser’s Edge to Financial Edge

  • Prepare export of transactions from Raiser’s Edge and import journal entries into Financial Edge general ledger
  • Post Raiser’s Edge transactions into Financial Edge on a weekly basis depending on the volume of transactions entered in Raiser’s Edge
  • Check that Raiser’s Edge imported data fields are properly inputted into Financial Edge.
  • Review and analyze revenue from Raiser’s Edge.
  • Collaborate with the chapters and the Database Department to assure the accuracy of details and coding in the Raiser’s Edge gift transactions and their effect on Financial Edge.
  • Contact and follow up with regional chapters on necessary updates and adjustments in Raiser’s Edge
  • Reconcile all online credit card transactions to the bank once they have been entered into Raiser’s Edge.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA and/or audit experience a plus
  • A minimum of 4 years of related work experience
  • Experience with Blackbaud, Financial Edge, or Raiser’s Edge preferred
  • Superior organizational and communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Proficient in computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office
  • Collaborative workstyle, effective working in and across teams
