Skills Required
Proficiency with Microsoft Software (Word and Excel) and familiarity with Google Drive
(Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms).
Proficiency with, or ability to learn ShulCloud, Canva and Constant Contact.
Organizational skills: ability to prioritize, take initiative and work independently or as a
member of a team as required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, People skills: ability to connect with individuals and families, adults and children alike,
both formally and informally.
Adaptability: Flexible and able to adjust to changing priorities and demands.
Respect for confidentiality of sensitive information.
Education
Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:
Managing records for the school and the synagogue The AA will be responsible for creating and maintaining up-to-date student records and class lists in the synagogue database (ShulCloud) and email lists (Constant Contact) used to communicate with families.
Managing logistics for the school and the synagogue: The AA will have primary responsibility for logistics, including ordering food and materials .
Assisting with communications: Working with Director of Congregational Learning and Engagement, the AA will help prepare and distribute the weekly Hebrew School newsletter and teacher updates for parents and caregivers. They also will help prepare and disseminate information about annual school registration, family programs, special events, and youth and family Shabbat programs.
Providing Administrative Support: The AA will help ensure that the synagogue has adequate supplies and materials for classes and other activities. In addition, they will work with the Executive Director around building coverage, maintenance appointments and the associated documentation requirements, as well as other administrative responsibilities.
Serving as a welcoming presence: The AA is expected to be present when our Hebrew School is in session. For our Hebrew School, the AA is expected to welcome and greet parents, caregivers, and children at the front door and be available to answer their questions; monitor the phone, track student attendance; help set up name tags and other needed materials and call parents or caregivers if needed.
