POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing the marketing project pipeline, and prioritizing initiatives to align with organizational goals and community needs. They will collaborate across departments to support strategic planning, contribute to team writing efforts, and fulfill a variety of digital marketing needs, including graphic design projects, social media, email campaigns, and website updates. The ideal candidate is highly organized, community-minded, and passionate about using design and storytelling to inspire engagement and strengthen connections across the JCC’s diverse programs and services.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collaborates with all departments across the agency to develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans that align with organizational goals and agency-wide strategies.
  • Partners with the Marketing team to create targeted sales and marketing strategies that drive engagement, membership, and program participation.
  • Coordinates the planning and execution of multi-channel marketing initiatives—including print, digital, blog content, and brochures—while utilizing project management tools to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Provides consistent graphic design support for recurring marketing materials, such as program schedules, event guides, flyers, and promotional collateral, ensuring brand consistency and visual appeal.
  • Works in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications Coordinator to manage digital marketing initiatives, including social media, email campaigns, and website content; liaises with digital advertising vendors to optimize campaign performance and reach.
  • Stays current with emerging marketing tools, technologies, and best practices; conducts research and recommends new technical solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Assists in monitoring and managing the marketing budget, ensuring responsible allocation and adherence to financial guidelines throughout the fiscal year.
  • Supports public relations efforts by identifying media opportunities, maintaining press relationships, and contributing to the development and distribution of press materials.
  • Develops, maintains, and oversees editorial and publication calendars to ensure all content and materials are produced, reviewed, and delivered on schedule.
  • Works effectively with other key JCC departments to provide effective and efficient service delivery.
  • Ability to define problems, develop solutions, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to manage and balance a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced environment under tight time constraints.

  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to operate personal computers (hardware and software).
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required.
  • Ability to travel, as needed.
  • Ability to perform other related duties, as needed and/or required.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

While performing the above duties, this position routinely requires handling persons and/or objects and moving safely throughout the building. This position may include walking, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. This position requires communicating, either verbally or in writing. This position frequently requires moving items weighing up to 25 pounds. This position occasionally requires moving items weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to complete all essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Supervision from Chief Development & Marketing Officer

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field, preferred at least 3 (3) years’ experience in the marketing industry or equivalent combination of education and experience. Some graphic design and AI experience preferred.
