ECC Curriculum & Instruction Supervisor

Full Time – Exempt

As the ECC Curriculum & Instruction Director, you will have direct oversight of the development and implementation of curricula appropriate for children between the age of 3 months and Kindergarten. You will also partner with the ECC Director to be a presence in the day to day operations of the ECC, serving as a resource for our families and their children.  To that end, you will also be the liaison for our special services, including but not limited to our Occupational, Physical and Speech Therapists; as well as any outside therapists needed to support our students.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development and implementation of curriculum for all age groups of the ECC
  • Coordinates with Educational Director of synagogue for the ECC’s Judaic curriculum
  • Observe teachers and students daily for the purpose of informing instruction.
  • Conduct goal setting and monitor progress toward goals for all ECC staff members.
  • Attend Professional Learning Community (PLC) Meetings to develop rigorous and viable curriculum documents for each grade level.
  • Provide Professional Development for all ECC staff.
  • Evaluate all staff both informally and formally.
  • To plan and implement Staff Retreat in the summer.
  • Assist in the recruitment and hiring of ECC staff.
  • Manage parent/teacher communication app.
  • Assist in scheduling of staff requests and Payroll.
  • Assist in implementing support strategies for any students who are differently abled, or presenting with challenges.
  • Coordinate all outside and internal services (OT, PT, Speech, Mobility, etc.)
  • Additional/new responsibilities may be required as the program continue to grow and administrative staffing model is revisited.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Demonstrated success in the field of education with significant experience working in early childhood education and providing education and support to children with special needs.
  • Must be well organized, and have a strong respect for accuracy and the ability to adhere to deadlines and follow through in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, self-regulate and work in an environment of rapid pace and adjust workload and assignments accordingly.
  • Ability to think and write creatively and innovatively.
  • Possess focused attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work independently.
  • Self-starter who is energized by challenges and willingness to learn.
  • Have strong computer skills and a willingness to learn new programs; knowledge of MS Office, Constant Contact and membership database systems
  • Proven ability to connect with teachers, assistants, parents and children
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with administrative team members
  • Availability to work during High Holiday services as part of the team overseeing childcare and age appropriate activities
  • Experience working in a synagogue, non-profit environment or the Jewish community
  • Working knowledge of Jewish holidays, customs and traditions.
  • Motivation to create a culture of understanding and community.

Experience: Minimum of at least 3-5 years of early childhood education and 5 or more years in education at any level
