Temple Am Echad is a diverse, multi-generational community from different backgrounds and legacies. We work in warm partnership between our clergy and dedicated lay leadership.  Ours is an environment of volunteerism, believing that Tikkun Olam should be our driving force. We provide educational and worship opportunities within the context of Reform Judaism and believe that music should be an integral component of our regular and enriched services. 

We are seeking an organized, collaborative, and welcoming full-time Temple Administrator to join our community, overseeing the day-to-day operations and management of our synagogue.  The Temple Administrator will serve as the key administrative leader, reporting directly to the President, and will work closely with lay leaders, clergy, and professional staff, to support the congregation’s mission and values.

Synagogue Life: Provide administrative and logistical support for all Jewish ritual activities, including Shabbat, High Holy Days, and festivals.

Synagogue Management: Supervise daily operations; oversee, train, and manage non-clergy staff; develop and implement office policies; direct staff in program implementation.

Leadership: Collaborate with lay leaders to identify and train new volunteers; serve as liaison between committees; attend congregational, board, and administrative committee meetings (other meetings as needed).

Membership: Collaborate with lay leaders to engage prospective and new members; cultivate relationships with congregants; assist with growth and retention strategies.

Scheduling & Communication: Maintain Temple calendar; coordinate scheduling of activities for all Temple groups; ensure timely flow of information between clergy, staff, and congregation.

Development & Financial: Assist lay leadership and promote fundraising; assist with donor stewardship and grant writing; expand rental opportunities; assist in budget preparation; monitor expenditures and oversee purchasing agent.

Miscellaneous: Serve as primary contact on the emergency call list; participate in NATA and/or local equivalent.

Qualifications

  1. Demonstrates excellent relationship building and strong interpersonal skills (oral and written)
  2. Understanding of Jewish rituals, life cycle events, holidays, and customs
  3. Ability to manage multiple priorities and perform efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  4. High level of computer skills, including, but not limited to: Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, experience with ShulCloud (membership management system) is a plus
  5. Ability to assist clergy, professionals, and lay leadership in meeting important deadlines
  6. Knowledge of social media is a plus
  7. 1-3 years of related experience preferred
Salary80,000.00 - 85,000.00 Annual
