As the umbrella brand for our global suite of programs, Mem Global supports young adults as they bring Judaism to life through thousands of peer-driven gatherings across 25+ countries each year. Mem Global seeks a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, People and Culture. The Vice President, People and Culture provides strategic leadership and support for all areas of human resources, including compensation, employee relations, performance management, benefits, learning and organizational development, talent acquisition and retention, organizational culture, leadership, and risk management. This individual serves on the Senior Management Team and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

  • You have a deep and comprehensive knowledge of nonprofit business operations, with specific skill in: Project Management, Employee Relations, Coaching, Communications, Performance Management, Compensation, Benefits, DEI, Organizational Development, Culture Building and Risk Management.
  • You'll provide Human Resources and Risk Management leadership through:
    • Articulating and executing Mem Global's human resources strategy to support our overall business goals and objectives.
    • Driving and continuing to build Mem Global's employee culture throughout the organization.
    • Providing oversight for organization-wide HR-related initiatives, partnering with all levels and departments throughout the organization.
    • Collaborating with the Senior Management Team to analyze and prioritize the critical business challenges faced by the organization, and deploy appropriate HR interventions.
    • Analyzing employee engagement and personnel data and leading problem-solving efforts to develop strategies.
    • Crafting and leading New Leader Orientation and consulting with organizational leaders on coaching and developing their teams, adapting organizational structure, and responding to concerns.
    • Assessing and mitigating risk throughout the organization.
    • Analyzing employee compensation and developing and articulating compensation strategy.
    • Implement best practices for HR policies and processes.
    • Clearly communicating the HR policies and strategies to the team.
    • Overseeing the HR budget.
  • You'll lead the Human Resources Team through:
    • Providing direct supervision, training, development, coaching, ongoing feedback, and performance management for a high performing team of HR professionals (People & HR Operations Director and People, HR Generalist & Recruiter).
    • Leveraging strengths of the current team and outsourced teams (e.g., PEOs, insurance brokers) to fully support all HR initiatives.
    • Strengthening internal communications and collaborations among staff at all levels throughout the organization.
    • Taking responsibility for strategic, operational, and fiscal management of the department. 
  • You have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Human Resources, Nonprofit Management, or another related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • You have a minimum of 10 years of full-time professional experience with all facets of Human Resources, including increasing responsibility through experience gained in the field.
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of experience building, leading, and developing a team of full-time HR professionals, preferably within a nonprofit or government entity.
  • You have keen analytic and problem-solving skills which allow for strategic data interpretation. You feel at home understanding budgets and financial statements.
  • You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in effectively developing, communicating, and leading organization-wide key initiatives, including presentations to senior management, board members, or other outside partners.
  • You have outstanding writing skills.
  • You are eligible to work in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

The Fine Print:

The Vice President, People and Culture, is a full-time, exempt, year-round position, and requires weekday office hours to complete job requirements. This position works in one of our U.S. Hub offices (Chicago (preferred), NYC, Washington D.C., Charlotte, or Encinitas) on a hybrid schedule and is supervised by the Chief Operating Officer.  

In our U.S. Hub Offices, our team works a hybrid schedule where employees can choose to work remotely 2 days per week and collaborate in-person with coworkers the rest of the week.

How Mem Global Pays You:

The starting salary range for this full-time exempt position is: $145K-$170K. Your specific salary within this range will take into consideration education, experience and location.
