Congregation Shaarei Kodesh (CSK), Boca Raton, FL

Congregation Shaarei Kodesh (CSK), a Conservative synagogue in West Boca Raton, is seeking a Part-Time Director of Education and Youth to lead and strengthen our Religious School and Youth Programming. This position is ideal for an experienced Jewish educator who enjoys working in a small, engaged community and is excited to help grow and sustain youth participation.

Key Responsibilities

Religious School Leadership (K–7)

  • Oversee Sunday morning and Tuesday afternoon Religious School sessions; Shabbat School as scheduled
  • Support and refine curriculum
  • Supervise teachers and classroom support
  • Ensure a structured, positive, and engaging learning environment

B’nai Mitzvah Preparation

  • Oversee (and possibly provide) B’nai Mitzvah tutoring
  • Guide families through the preparation process in collaboration with clergy/Executive Director

Teen & Youth Engagement

  • Help foster continued learning and participation beyond B’nai Mitzvah
  • Provide overall coordination and direction for youth programming (i.e., USY/youth chapter events, regional participation)
  • Work with advisors who support and staff youth activities
  • Encourage teen involvement in synagogue life and leadership opportunities

Family Communication & Recruitment

  • Serve as primary liaison to religious school families by maintaining clear, consistent communication
  • Partner with synagogue leadership and the Executive Director to market and promote the Religious School and Youth Programming to current and prospective families

Administrative Oversight

  • Assist with scheduling, materials, and budget coordination
  • Support outreach and marketing efforts to increase enrollment and participation in Religious School and Youth Programming

Qualifications

  • Experience in Jewish education 
  • Hebrew reading proficiency (preferably including Torah/Haftarah reading)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Collaborative, warm, and proactive leadership style

Position Details

  • Part-time position
  • On-site Sunday mornings and Tuesday afternoons; Saturdays as scheduled
  • Flexible additional hours for tutoring, planning, and outreach
  • Compensation commensurate with experience

CSK may also have additional part-time administrative/marketing opportunities available. Candidates interested in combining roles into a full-time position are welcome to indicate that in their application.
