Job Title: Youth Engagement Specialist and CLASP Fellow
Reports to: Eliana Stein, Director of K-7 Learning
Temple Beth Elohim (TBE), a vibrant Reform congregation in Wellesley, Massachusetts, seeks an innovative, organized, and dynamic individual to join its K-12 Learning Programs team in the upcoming school year. This full-time position has a strong focus on experiential education and youth engagement with the opportunity to work in a supportive, collaborative, and creative environment.
Qualifications:
A love of working with our youth learning community, including but not limited to: children, pre-teens and/or teens;
Strong work ethic, highly organized, project management, and leadership skills;
Energetic, engaging, creative, passionate, and flexible;
Leadership experience in experiential education and/or camping in Jewish settings (preferred);
Ability to develop, foster, and sustain meaningful relationships;
Interest in learning and growing as a Jewish educational professional;
Comfort using online learning tools to create engaging experiences;
Passionate about teaching and modeling the wisdom, values, and practices of Judaism with children of all ages;
Ability to successfully handle multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with a team in a fast-paced environment;
Bachelor’s Degree;
Access to a car and a clean driving record.
Hours:
This is a full-time position with regular evening and weekend work (including some Shabbats and Jewish Holidays) expected throughout the academic year.
Salary Range:
$50,000
Core Responsibilities:
Core responsibilities will be tailored to the individual skills and passions of the successful candidate, and the needs of the congregation, and may include:
- Work collaboratively with the Learning Programs Team
- Weekly teaching in youth learning programs
- Shabbat programming and staffing
- K-7 lesson planning (supported by Director of K-7 Learning)
- Support K-7 Youth Groups, including Junior JELY events (K-5), JELY events (6-7), and Havayah events (8-12), as needed
- Outreach and relationship-building: meet kids where they are and facilitate their connection to Judaism;
- Staff teen travel (as needed)
- Staff volunteer groups, as needed
- Work with the learning team and other TBE staff and clergy to create and implement holiday celebrations and special events
- Participate in CLASP programming
- Lead the camping initiative to help children and parents learn about (and enroll in) Jewish summer camps
