TITLE: Engagement Associate 


DEPARTMENT: Center for Jewish Education  




FUNCTION:  The Engagement Associate represents the Federation as a forward-facing staff member to the Dallas Jewish Community.  


REPORTS TO: Interim Director of the Center for Jewish Education 


SUPERVISES: Three Part Time Trip Counselors 




Essential Job Functions: 

  • Develop and administer the logistics of a yearly teen trip to Israel for 3 weeks in the summer. This includes arranging the travel to Israel, working with a tour operator, travelling with the teens and arranging the logistics prior (registration, health forms, passports, etc.), marketing the trip and visiting the schools to market the program. 
  • Oversees the RootOne grant process, voucher dissemination, and pre-trip education modules. 
  • Supervising three part-time trip counselors.  
  • Working with the Dallas Israel Teen Tour Lay committee to carry out the planning and fundraising for the trip 
  • Strengthen teens’ connection to Israel before, during and after the Israel Experience through engaging educational programs and activities.  
  • Meet with Rabbis, educators and youth directors in the Dallas area, making them aware of the Federation Israel Experience and encouraging them to promote it with their teens. 
  • Meet with the teens and their parents to promote the Israel Experience. 
  • Plan and implement post trip programs that continue well after the Israel visit to encourage engagement in the community (even when the teens are in college and beyond). Encourage past participants to attend and participate in community Israel events. 
  • Develop and manage the Teen Tour budget 
  • Manage and administer an Israel Savings program and any other scholarships or incentives that are available including RootOne vouchers and the Federation’s Israel scholarships.  
  • Increase awareness of Immersive Israel travel and scholarships within the community (Masa, Gap Year and other Young Adult programs).  
  • Maintain teen database including data collection, management, and analysis. 
  • Convene the Youth Professionals Council - Offer support/guidance and collaboration with local youth professionals. 




Education:  Bachelor’s degree required.   

Experience: Minimum of three years related professional experience working with teens, strong knowledge of Israeli history, culture and geography and knowledge of Judaism. 

Other Requirements:   

  • Excellent communication skills in person, on the phone and in writing.   
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products.   
  • Fosters and maintains effective, collaborative relationships with the community. 
  • A passionate advocate and a keen understanding for Jewish education and the Jewish community. 
  • Ability to organize, monitor, and track numerous ongoing and one-time activities events and projects.  
  • Strong attention to detail.   
  • Exhibits Initiative and the ability to figure things out independently.   
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and handle stress. 
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.   
  • Ability to travel to Israel each summer for three weeks. 
  • A positive attitude and willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done. 
  • Must love teenagers!
