Position Title: Assistant Executive Director
Reports To: Executive Director

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Assistant Executive Director to play a key leadership role in the day-to-day management of our congregation. This position is ideal for someone with strong financial, operational, and organizational skills, and an interest in pursuing a long-term career in synagogue or nonprofit management.  Strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with familiarity with Jewish customs and synagogue life will lead to success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Monitor and manage financial operations across multiple platforms (ShulCloud, QuickBooks, etc.) including expense approval and maintaining financial records and reporting.

Congregational Operations

  • Manage membership records, categories, and communications

Event & Program Coordination

  • Serve as Kiddush Coordinator:
    • Collaborate with congregants and leaders on catering and supervise kitchen and custodial staff
  • Serve as B’nai Mitzvah Coordinator:
    • Guide families through event planning and logistics
    • Serve as on-site support for occasional Friday night and Saturday morning services
  • Manage synagogue calendars and internal communications

Marketing & Communications

  • Maintain a vibrant social media and digital presence
  • Develop marketing materials and communications across platforms (Canva, Constant Contact, etc.)
  • Collaborate with staff and volunteers to plan and promote events and manage budgets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent experience (3+ years)
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, financial software such as QuickBooks and ShulCloud, Google Workspace, Canva and Constant Contact (or similar platforms), and AI.
  • Self-starter, ability to think outside of the box, and creative thinking.
