  • Promote JFedOC leaders and programs as subject matter experts on key Jewish communal initiatives to advance Federation’s objectives
  • Represent JFedOC at meetings, collaboratives, and initiatives, and where appropriate to advance Jewish communal interests
  • Engage in policy research related to JFedOC priorities and draft op/eds, letters to the editor and other communication, as needed
  • Determine priorities for Jewish public affairs advocacy and community awareness in alignment with JFedOC objectives of combating antisemitism and hate, and strengthening a connection with Israel
  • Serve as an organizational spokesperson and partner in developing internal and external communications
  • Build and strengthen relationships and mutual understanding with ethnic, racial, faith-based, and civic organizations in furtherance of community initiatives
  • Establish and maintain ties with government officials, elected and appointed, at the local, state, and federal level to advance Jewish communal interests

  • Advocate on government funding for JFedOC and community partners as well as on public policy issues of concern at the local, state, and national levels
  • Other responsibilities as assigned

 Your experience and mindset:

  • Chances are you have a graduate degree in political science, Jewish studies, law or non-profit management
  • You have a track record of community organizing and success demonstrated in the work you’ve done over the last 5-8 years in a JCRC or similar role
  • You are a passionate advocate for Jewish justice, thrive as part of a team, have excellent interpersonal skills, are an effective communicator verbally and in writing, and can pivot between operating as part of a team and operating independently with minimal supervision
  • Along your career you have developed high-level expertise communicating in writing, consensus building, and oral communication
  • You are laser focused and work at a fast pace when it comes to solving problems and can achieve multiple tasks at once in order to effectively meet deadlines
  • You are familiar with the organized Jewish community, both locally and nationally, and the Federation system
  • You believe in the mission and vision of JFedOC to strengthen community and you desire to participate in our programs and events
