Temple Beth Hillel – Beth El is a vibrant Conservative Synagogue in the Main Line suburbs of Philadelphia. The Communication and Program Coordinator will be the central synagogue staff member developing and coordinating publicity/advertisements/communication for all synagogue programs. This position will provide leadership for our youth and family programs as well as logistical support for other programming areas. The position requires excellent communications, graphic arts, computer, website management, editing/writing, creativity, time management and organizational skills. The coordinator will work closely with clergy and staff members, synagogue officers, committee chairs, and volunteers. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

 

  1. Synagogue Marketing and Public Relations
    1. Help to implement overall synagogue marketing and public relations plan
    2. Create the weekly newsletter
    3. Design synagogue brochures and program booklets for membership, fund raising, and educational publications
    4. Design and manage the monthly Pharisee Newsletter
  2. Temple Beth Hillel – Beth El Website & Technology
    1. Keep website current with frequent updates
    2. Expand and improve website content and layout
    3. Expand the use of electronic and social media including the synagogue Facebook Page, Twitter, and new approaches to online communications and other media outlets.
  3. Youth and Family Programs
    1. Work with Director of Community Engagement on creating a vision for youth and family programs
    2. Provide support and leadership for youth and family program initiatives
    3. Recruit and supervise advisors and staff for programs as appropriate
  1. Program and Volunteer Coordination
    1. Work with our B’nai Mitzvah students on finding appropriate service projects
    2. Serve as the lead staff member for MLK Day of Service and other community service focused programs
    3. Serve as the primary staff person for programs and committees as assigned
  1. Other Duties
    1. Assist the office staff in answering phones and welcoming people to the building
    2. Provide support for other marketing and communication initiatives as needed
